unicef “one shot is enough”, for the first time in history, chile takes home 3 Gold at cannes lions 2015
A smartphone in the wrong hands is a weapon. That was the idea that, in 2015, made UNICEF the first Chilean brand to win three Cannes Gold in a single edition. We translated a quiet statistic —teen suicide from digital bullying is an epidemic parents don't see— into an image you can't unsee: three victims, three labels (the fat one, the nerd, the drunk one), three weapons. Each weapon made of screens. The message wasn't aimed at the kids. It was aimed at the adults who hand them the phone.
ES: Un smartphone en manos equivocadas es un arma. Esa fue la idea con la que UNICEF se convirtió, en 2015, en la primera marca chilena en ganar tres Gold de Cannes en una sola edición. Tradujimos un dato silencioso —el suicidio adolescente por bullying digital es una epidemia que los padres no ven— a una imagen imposible de ignorar: tres víctimas, tres etiquetas (la gorda, el nerd, el borracho), tres armas. Cada arma estaba hecha de pantallas. El mensaje no era para los chicos. Era para los adultos que les pasan el teléfono sin pensar.
